Attorney Katherine Myers opens the first office for Myers Law in Columbia, SC at 1803 Hampton Street, Columbia, SC

After practicing law for the past five years, I am most excited to announce the opening of my own law firm in downtown Columbia. Myers Law is a Criminal Defense Firm committed to providing top notch legal presentation for individuals who have been accused of crimes in the State of South Carolina.

I decided that my path and purpose for effecting change is through becoming a lawyer.”

The Sixth Amendment of the United States Constitution guarantees the right to an attorney for individuals accused of a crime. The Constitution guarantees many more important rights for the accused and I am passionate about protecting those rights. If you or someone you love has been accused of crime, you need an advocate to protect your rights and guide you through the process. As a former full-time Prosecutor in Orangeburg County, I have had the opportunity to engage in and learn the process.

The Dream

In 2007, my freshman year at Furman University, I declared to the Political Science Department my major and I declared to myself my career path. After being inspired by the Civil Rights Movement, landmark Supreme Court decisions and legislation signed into law by our Presidents, I decided that my path and purpose for effecting change is through becoming a lawyer. My journey to my JD was not an easy one, but I have no regrets and learned so much about myself along the way. This summer, as I celebrate 5 years as a lawyer, I also celebrate the opening of Myers Law. It feels like a dream.

A huge part of my success is the support of my family and friends. My dad, Kenneth Myers, Sr., (below) and I enjoy almost daily conversations and check-ins. Thank you to each of you for being a part of my journey and visiting my site.
